BADGE REGISTRATION
The following summarizes the registration of the badge:
Magnetic Holding the magnetic stripe away from the display window (facing the blue arrow), insert and
slide the badge through the device's vertical slot in a smooth downward motion.
Bar code Holding the bar code away from the display window (facing the blue arrow), insert and slide
the badge through the device's vertical slot in a smooth downward motion.
Proximity Holding the badge in front of the device up to two inches away, pass the badge over the 9 key
on the keypad.
Registration at the device is indicated by the following:
Lights A green light indicates a badge was registered. A red light indicates an error in registration.
Sound The valid audible tone sounds with a valid registration, the invalid audible tone sounds with
an unsuccessful registration. Please note the sound volume cannot be adjusted.
Display The first prompt for data is displayed with a valid registration or a message displays
indicating the reason for an invalid registration.
SUCCESSFUL REGISTRATION
The following indicates a successful registration:
The valid LED displays green.
The valid audible tone is sounded.
The display window changes to the first data entry prompt.
UNSUCCESSFUL REGISTRATION
The following indicate an unsuccessful swipe.
No response from the device.
or
The invalid LED displays red.
The invalid audible tone is sounded.
The message in the display window indicates the reason for the invalid entry.
Most unsuccessful swipes occur due to the badge being swiped too quickly, too slowly, or inserted in the
wrong direction. When the badge is swiped unsuccessfully, register the badge again.
