3.3 GraphicalUserInterface(GUI)
TheGUI("Gooey")wasdesignedtoprovideanintuitiveinterfaceintothetransmittercontrolsystem.TheGUIis
accessiblelocallyviatheTCUfronttouchscreenpanelorremotelyviawebbrowserinterfacetotheTCU.Onceyou
becomefamiliarwithcontent,findinginformationissimplyamatteroffollowingthescreens
tothedesiredsection
ofthetransmitter.MenuTreesofallavailablescreensaregivenin
Figure37onpage39.
WithREMOTEEnabledlocallyviahardwarecontrolbuttons,andafterLogin,navigationandcontrolisaccomplished
viathewebbrowserusingmouseentries.Webbrowserscreenshaveactiveareaswhichareindicatedbythehand
iconwhichappearswhenthemouseisbroughttorestoveranactiveicon.Uponselection
byleftmouseclickonan
iconaninitialscreenispresented.Furthernavigationthroughdifferentmenusisaccomplishedbyclickingonthe
iconsorsoftwarebuttonsalongtherightedgeofthescreen.Theiconsandbuttonschangewitheachscreen
selected.
Note
The local (front panel) TCU GUI LCD screen and control buttons cannot be used to update LPU software,
it is updated via remote web browser.
Note
Harris recommends the Firefox browser. In Firefox, screens can be enlarged by pressing <Ctrl> and <+>
simultaneously. Screen sizes are reduced by pressing <Ctrl> and <-> simultaneously.
Note
If REMOTE is Disabled on the hardware front panel, navigation and monitoring via web browser is still
possible but transmitter control is not.
3.3.1 ConnectionViaWebInterface

connectedtoanetworkorlocally byconnectingacomputertotheRJ45Ethernetportonthetopofthecabinetor
tothePCMcardport.Simplyenterthetransmitter’ sIPaddressintothewebbrowser.Harrisrecommendsthe
Firefoxbrowser.TheIPaddresscanbefoundatthebottom
ofthehomescreenorbynavigatingviathetouchscreen
totheSystem>Service>NetworkscreenontheLCD.
3.3.2 WebBrowserLoginScreens
UponTCUwebbrowserconnectiontheTCUHomepagewillbedisplayed.TheTCUloginscreen,Figure35,canbe
openedbypressingtheLoginbuttonintheupperleftcorneroftheTCUHomepage.
