2.12.1 HeatExchanger&PumpModuleStart‐up
TheelectricalinstallationshouldbecompletedandshouldbeinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCodeand
anylocalcodesandregulations.Theincomingpowersupplycanbe208to240V‐3Ph‐50or60Hz,or380to415V‐
3Ph‐50or60Hz.Exactlinevoltageandconfigurationshouldhavebeen
specifiedatthetimetheorderwasplaced.
Fanandpumpmotorsarethreephas eandhavecurrentoverloadprotectionprovidedbytheinverter/controllers.
Priortostart‐up,eachfanmotorshouldbecheckedforfreedomofmovementandtoverifythatthefanbladeis
securelyfastenedtothemotorshaft.Pumpandfandirectionofrotationmustbecheckedattheinitialpowerupof
thepumpmoduleandheatexchanger.Verificationof
pumpandfanrotationisoutlinedintheHEpumpmodule
manual888‐2625‐001Section2.6.
Caution
INCORRECT (REVERSE) ROTATION OF THE PUMPS OR FANS WILL CAUSE
POOR COOLANT OR AIR FLOW AND MAY DAMAGE THE DEVICES.
CORRECT PUMP ROTATION BY SWITCHING ANY TWO OF THE AC LINES AT
THE OUTPUT OF INVERTERS. CORRECT ROTATION OF THE FANS BY
SWAPPING TWO OF THE AC LINES FEEDING THE FANS.
Fansandmotorsaredirectconnected.Motorsarepermanentlylubricate dforthelifeofthemotor.Allpumpshave
maintenance‐freepumpseals.
Note
Job site environmental conditions should be evaluated periodically to maintain operational reliability.
Schedule maintenance activities to accommodate changing environmental conditions at the site.
2.12.2 ChargingClosedLoopCoolingSystem
Initialchargingoftheclosedloopcoolingsystemis outlinedinSection2.6oftheHEpumpmoduletechnical
manual.Section2.7includesinstructionsforchargingthesystemusingcirculatingpumpB.Refertothose
instructionstochargethesystem.
2.12.3 Initial SystemLeakTesting
Oncethesystemischargedwithwaterperformleaktestingpriortochargingthesystemwiththe50/50glycol/
distilledwatermixture.
Checkimmediatelyforanyleaksatthefollowingcoolingsystempoints.
• Transmitterinletandoutletpipeconnections
• Pumpmoduleinletandoutletpipeconnections
• Heatexchangerinletandoutletpipeconnections
• Allsolderjoints,systemvalvesand drainvalves
Repairanydetectedleaks.Ifleakshavedeveloped,dependinguponthegivenleak’slocation,watermayhavetobe
drainedfromthesystembeforemakingrepairs.
2.12.4 Initial SystemFlushing
Oncethecoolingsystemhasbeendeterminedtobefreeofleaksitmayneedtobecleanedandflushedbefore
continuingtheinstallation.
STEP 1 Drainallwat erfromsystem.Monitorthelevelofwaterthatisreturnedtothe
containertodeterminetrappedwaterinsystem.Tomoreeasilydrainthe
systemopenallofthesystemandcabinetdrainandventvalves.Oncedraining
iscompletecloseallcabinetdrainvalves.Thechargepump,
ifused,canbe
reversedtoaidindrainingthesystem.
