Caution
FOR VERTICALLY MOUNTED HEAT EXCHANGERS (EXHAUST AIR
PARALLEL TO GROUND ON FAN SIDE) THERE SHOULD BE NO
OBSTRUCTION WITHIN TWO METERS OF THE EXHAUST SIDE OR WITHIN
ONE METER OF THE INTAKE . HORIZONTALLY MOUNTED HEAT
EXCHANGERS (EXHAUST AIR DIRECTED UPWARD) SHOULD HAVE NO
OBSTRUCTIONS WITHIN TEN METERS OF OUTPUT EXHAUST.
Amethodofprotectionfromprevailing,directwindisrecommendedontheexhaustsideofverticalheatexchanger
fans.Ablockingpartitionapproximately4metersfromtheexhaustsideofthefanisrecommended.Blocking
incomingwindhelpspreventfanstartupproblemsduetobackwardfanrotation.
Theheatexchangerunitmustbelevelbeforefasteningmountinglegstothesupportingstructure(steelframefor
rooflocationorconcretepadforgroundlocation).
STEP 1 Lifttheheatexchangerunitandplaceintoposition(verticalorhorizontally
orientedheatexchangersmaybeencountered).Observemanufacturer’s
assemblyandliftingrecommendations.
STEP 2 Installthelegchannelsandbraceanglesasrequired.
STEP 3 Carefullyplaceassembledunitontoconcretepadorsupportframe.
STEP 4 Leveltheunitusingshims.
STEP 5 Securetheunittotheconcretepadorsupportframeusinganchorbolts.
STEP 6 Installsafetywarninglabels.Locateandinstallaccordingtoinstructions.
STEP 7 EndofProcedure.
2.7.4 PlacementofPumpModule
TheHEpumpmodulemustbeinstalledindoors.Anelectricalcontrolpanelisintegratedintothepumpmodule
assembly.Someearlierversionsofthepumpmoduleandcontrolpanelweredesignedforeitherindoorouroutdoor
use.ThecurrentHEpumpmoduleisspecificallydesignedforindooruseonly.
Thepumpmoduleshouldbepositionednearthetransmittersotheelectricalpanelcanbereadilyviewedandis
easilyaccessible.
STEP 1 Liftthepumpmoduleunitandplaceitinthedesiredlocation.
STEP 2 Levelthepumpmodulewithshimsasrequired.
STEP 3 Securethepumpmoduleunittopreventmovementduringoperation.
STEP 4 Installsafetywarninglabels.
STEP 5 Endofprocedure.
2.7.5 PlumbingInstallation
Thesystemtotalcoolantplumbingcircuitlengthmustnotexceed40meters(131feet)totallengthincludingsupply
andreturnlines.Vertically,amaximumdifferenceof8meters(26feet)betweenpumpmodule/heatexchangerand
thetransmitterisallowable.
Layouttheliquidcoolingsystemwithasfewelbowsaspossiblebecauseexcessiveelbowsorbacktoback45or90
degreeelbowswillgreatlyrestrictthecoolantflow.Ifhoseisusedinsteadofcopperlines,avoidsharpbendsofthe
hosesbecausethatcancollapsethehoseatthe
bendandgreatlyrestrictcoolantflow.Hoseswillrequiremore
supportthancopperlines.Ifhosesaretobeused, laytheminacabletrayifpossible,orusepaddedhosesupportsa
MINIMUMof1meterapart.
Anyturbulencecausingdeviceinthecoolantplumbingsystemcanrestrictflowandincreasethedynamichead
pressureofthepump.Iftwoturbulencecausingdevicesareconnectedbacktoback,theflowrestrictionand
