2.7.2 Rigging HeatExchanger&PumpModule
Whentheequipmentandaccessoriesarereceived,theyshouldbeimmediatelyinspectedforshortagesand
damage.Iftheequipmenthasbeendamagedinshipmentorshortagesarenoted,immediatelynotifythecarrierand
fileaclaim.
Theequipmentshouldbekeptontheoriginalpalletuntilreadyforfinalinstallation.Whenusingliftingbelts(straps)
ensurethataspreaderbarisusedandbeltsdonotcompresssheetmetalorplumbing.
Theexactmethodofhandling andsettingtheheatexchangerandpumpmoduledependsontheavailable
equipment,thesizeoftheunit,itsfinallocationandothervariables.Itistheinstaller’sormover’sresponsibi lityto
determinethespecificmethodofsafelyhandlingeachunit.Ifpossible,whentheunits
arriveatthesiteandare
unloadedfromthetruck,plantosetandsecuretheheatexchangerinitspermanentplaceonitsconcretepadoron
theroof.Thepumpmodule(withcontrolpanel)shouldimmediatelybemovedtoanindoorlocation.
Caution
ENSURE THE PROPER EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE TO SAFELY INSTALL THE
UNIT. EXTREME CARE SHOULD BE EXERCISED DURING THE FOLLOWING
STEPS TO AVOID EQUIPMENT DAMAGE OR PERSONNEL INJURY.
Note
When feasible the heat exchanger and pump module plumbing can be pressurized to 15 PSI with air or an
inert gas (nitrogen), as a leak check prior to rigging and/or final placement.
2.7.3 PlacementofHeatExchanger
Theheatexchangerunitistypicallyinstalledoutdoors.Locatetheunitoutsideofthebuilding,ascloseaspossibleto
thetransmittertominimizepipe/hoserunlengthandpumprequirements.Theheatexchangershouldbeoriented
sothataccesstotheelectricalconnections,fans,andfanmotorsisconvenient.
Ifmountedoutsidethebuilding,butnotonaroof,makesureaconcretepadispouredandallowedtocurebefore
placingtheheatexchangermoduleinplace.Plantounloadtheheatexchangerunitdirectlytoitsfinallocation.
Allowextraspaceforconcreteinfrontof,besideandbehindtheunittopreventdirtbeingsuckedinbythefans,and
toallowspaceformaintenanceandinspection.
Whenmountingonaroof ,installunitsuchthatbuildingcolumnsorloadbearingwallsofferadequatesupport.Place
unittoallowroomforaccessduringinstallationand maintenance
