EachPAmoduleconsistsofthefollowingcomponents:
a. MonitorBoard‐Responsibleforallmonitoringandprotectionofthemodule.Reportstothetransmitter
TCUviatheparallelcontrollines.
b. ConnectorI/OBoard‐I/OConnectorBoardprovidesinterfaceconnectionsbetweenPAModuleandtrans‐
mitterbackplane.Theboardincludesasinglehybridconnectorononesideandfiveconnectorsonthe
otherside.Thelargehybridconnectorinterfaceswithmatingconnectoronthebackplaneboard.Itcon
‐
tainssevenACcontacts,twenty‐foursmallsignalcontacts,andasingleRFcoaxialconnector.
c. ACDistributionBoard‐TheACdistributionboardprovidesthreephaseACtotheeightpowersupply
boards.ItalsoprovidesAClinefiltering,step‐startfunctionandtransientprotectionforthemodule.
d. PowerSupplyBoards‐TheeightAC/DCpowersuppliesprovide44VDCto50VDCpowertoeachpairofFETs
onthefourPApallets.Voltagevarieswithmodulationtypeandchannel.
e. SplitterBoard‐ThesplitterboardequallydividestheRFsignalbetweenfourpoweramplifierpallets.The
splitterisbroadband(coversbandIV/V).ThesplitterboardalsodeliversadetectedRFsampletothemoni
‐
torboardtoindicateinputpowerlevelandprovideprotectionfromexcessiveinputdrivepower.
f. SignalDistributionBoard‐SignalDistributionBoardservestorouteanaloganddigitalcontrolandmonitor‐
ingdatabetweenfourPAmoduleboardsubassemblies,monitorboard,PApallets,connectorI/Oboard,
and4‐waysplitterboard.
g. LDMOSAmplifierPallets‐Therearefoursinglestageamplifier palletsoperatinginparallelinthePAmod‐
ule.
h. CombinerBoard‐TheboardcombinestheRFoutputsofthefouramplifierpallets,anddeliversthecom‐
binedsignaltotheoutputport.Thecombinerisbroadband(coversbandIV/V)andrequiresnotuning.The
combiningofthesignalsisaccomplishedusinghybridcombinersinseries.Thefirststageisatwo‐way3dB
