EachPAmoduleconsistsofthefollowingcomponents:
a. MonitorBoard‐Responsibleforallmonitoringandprotectionofthemodule.Reportstothetransmitter
TCUviatheparallelcontrollines.
b. ConnectorI/OBoard‐I/OConnectorBoardprovidesinterfaceconnectionsbetweenPAModuleandtrans
mitterbackplane.Theboardincludesasinglehybridconnectorononesideandfiveconnectorsonthe
otherside.Thelargehybridconnectorinterfaceswithmatingconnectoronthebackplaneboard.Itcon
tainssevenACcontacts,twentyfoursmallsignalcontacts,andasingleRFcoaxialconnector.
c. ACDistributionBoard‐TheACdistributionboardprovidesthreephaseACtotheeightpowersupply
boards.ItalsoprovidesAClinefiltering,stepstartfunctionandtransientprotectionforthemodule.
d. PowerSupplyBoards‐TheeightAC/DCpowersuppliesprovide44VDCto50VDCpowertoeachpairofFETs
onthefourPApallets.Voltagevarieswithmodulationtypeandchannel.
e. SplitterBoard‐ThesplitterboardequallydividestheRFsignalbetweenfourpoweramplifierpallets.The
splitterisbroadband(coversbandIV/V).ThesplitterboardalsodeliversadetectedRFsampletothemoni
torboardtoindicateinputpowerlevelandprovideprotectionfromexcessiveinputdrivepower.
f. SignalDistributionBoard‐SignalDistributionBoardservestorouteanaloganddigitalcontrolandmonitor
ingdatabetweenfourPAmoduleboardsubassemblies,monitorboard,PApallets,connectorI/Oboard,
and4waysplitterboard.
g. LDMOSAmplifierPallets‐Therearefoursinglestageamplifier palletsoperatinginparallelinthePAmod
ule.
h. CombinerBoard‐TheboardcombinestheRFoutputsofthefouramplifierpallets,anddeliversthecom
binedsignaltotheoutputport.Thecombinerisbroadband(coversbandIV/V)andrequiresnotuning.The
combiningofthesignalsisaccomplishedusinghybridcombinersinseries.Thefirststageisatwoway3dB
