5.13.2 AlternatePumps
Everyone ortwomonthsselecttheoppositepumpinordertokeepbothpumpsinaproperworkingstate.
SwitchingthepumpscanbeaccomplishedviatheGUIscreen(withpumpmoduleinREMOTEmode)bynavigating
toTCUHOME>SYSTEMthenpressingthebuttonfortheinactivepump.This
canalso bedonewiththepump
moduleinLOCALbyturningthedesiredpumpswitchtotheonposition.
5.13.3 CoolantValveMaintenance
Everytwomonths,duringanoffairperiod,thepumpmoduleshouldbeturnedoffandthecoolingsystemvalves
shouldbeopenedandclosedseveraltimestoassurepropermovementandclosure.Thispreventsthevalvesfrom
becomingstuckinoneposition.

5.13.4 PumpModuleStrainerCleaning
ThestrainerassemblyshowninSectionFigure5‐28onpage5‐35islocatedonthepumpmoduleinthereturnline
(fromheatexchanger).Thestrainershouldbeopenedandcleanedaftereachflushinthestartupprocess.The
frequencyofinspectionafterinitial installationmayvarydependingonsiteconditionsbutinmostcasessemi‐
annualinspectionandcleaningofthecoolingsystemstrainerisrecommended.Thestrainermustbe
disassembled
andcleanedwhenthetransmitterisoffairsincecoolantflowmustbestoppedbeforeopeningthestrainer
assembly.Followthestepsbelowtocleanthestrainer:
STEP 1 Turnoffthetransmitterandpumpmodule.
STEP 2 Closetheballvalvejustabovethestrainerassemblyandbothpumpinletvalvesto
isolatethestrainerfromtherestofthecoolingsystem.
Caution
WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND EYE PROTECTION WHEN
REMOVING THE STRAINER CAP. LOOSEN THE PLUG/DRAIN CAP SLOWLY
SINCE THE COOLANT MAY BE UNDER PRESSURE. THE COOLANT MAY
ALSO BE HOT.
STEP 3 Removestrainerhousingcap.Seenotebelow.
Note
A small amount of liquid will still be present in the pipe and strainer housing, and a receptacle (bucket)
will be necessary to contain the spillage.
STEP 4 Pullstrainerscreen
STEP 5 Inspectandcleanstrainerasneeded
STEP 6 Replacethestrainer,andperformtheabovestepsinreverseordertorestorethe
coolingsystemtonormaloperation.
STEP 7 Thesystemmayneedtobeventedandorrechargedafterrestart.RefertotheHE
pumpmodulemanualforcharginginstructions.
