5.11 PACabinetFanReplacement
Therearetwo230VAC50/60HzfansintheMaxivacabinet.TheygettheirACpowerfromthecontrolbreakerson
powerdistributionpanel.
Note
Deactivating the control breakers will turn off the cabinet fans but they also will disable the TCU and
exciters.
Thecabinetfansoperatecontinuouslywheneverthetransmitterison.Thefansareredundant,eitherofthefans
canberemovedwhilethetransmittercontinuesoperatingwithoneremainingoperationalfan.Thecabinetcooling
fanssupplyairtothePAmodules,IPA(driver)modulesandthepredrivers.Exhaustairfromthe
fansexitsthe
cabinetatthetop.
5.11.1 CabinetFanRemoval
STEP 1 Opentherearcabinetdoor.
STEP 2 DisconnectconnectorsJ1&J3(seeFigure5‐17)fromthefancontrolboardwhichlies
justabovethefanthatis toberemoved.
