9. Troubleshooting
Podware couldn’t find any device.
- Have you selected the correct COM port in the
“Network” menu? (“Network”, “com port” See Virtual
Com Port below).
- Check that the LEDs are illuminated.
- Check the state and length of your cables.
- Ensure that the “TX” indicator flashes when you click
on “online”.
It doesn’t work on RS232
- Have you selected the correct COM port in the
“Network” menu (“Network”, “com port”) in
Podware?
- You need to use an external BVNET PS power supply
when you are connected to a BVNET ADAPT via
RS232.
I can’t find the Virtual Com Port
- Go to the “Start” menu
- “Control panel”, “System”, “Hardware”, “Device
manager”, “Ports”. There you should see a line called
“ATEN UC232A USB BvNET Port” followed by a number
(eg. COM 4)
- If the port does not appear in the list, check that the
drivers have been properly installed and that the
cables are connected. If you are using the BvNET
ADAPT, check that the USB status indicator is
illuminated. (See below)
The EXT status indicator is not illuminated on the BVNET
ADAPT
- If you are connected over RS232, you need to use the
external BVNET PS power supply.
- Check the connections and that the power status
indicator is illuminated on the BVNET PS. If you’re
connected via USB, the power status indicator will not
be illuminated.
The USB status indicator is not illuminated on the BVNET
ADAPT
- If you are using a USB hub, check the cabling, the
power supply, and make sure that the driver is
properly installed.
- If you are using an RS232 serial connection, the USB
status indicator will not be illuminated.
