Important Information on Alternative Site Testing (AST)
The GlucoSure Link Blood Glucose Monitoring System can
test for blood glucose from areas other than your ngertip
such as palm and forearm (alternative site testing, or AST).
Alternative site testing can be less painful than ngertip
testing, but because of the physiological differences
between your ngertip and palm and forearm

site test result maybe signicantly different from ngertip
testing result under certain conditions. You should consult
your doctor or healthcare professional before using alternative site testing.
DO AST ONLY in the following intervals:
• In a pre-meal or fasting state (more than 2 hours since last meal)
• 2 hours or more after taking insulin
• 2 hours or more after exercise
Alternative site measurements should never be used to calibrate continuous glucose
monitors (CGMs)
Alternative site measurements should never be used for insulin dosing calculations.
