The Flow-Restrictor is located on the black waste water output line, sitting behind the membrane housing. It is

used for restricting the waste water flow that is discharged from the membrane housing.

The new flow restrictor will already have a short black tubing connected to the input, and a longer black tube which is

the output. (see Fig. 1)

How to replace the Flow Restrictor:

Step 1: Shut Off Feed Water and Tank

- Shut off the feed water line by turning the needle valve clockwise until it stops (Point X).

(Refer to Fig. 2)

- Turn off the tank valve (Point Y). The tank valve is off when the valve handle is perpendicular (90º)

to the valve’s outlet.

Step 2: Disconnect the Existing Black Line and Flow Restrictor - The flow restrictor is located in the black tubing between the drain saddle (Fig. 2, Point W). and the membrane (Fig. 3, Point W) Fig. 3: Top View of Sample Filter System (models may vary) - Disconnect the black tubing from the drain saddle. (Fig. 2, Point W) - Disconnect the black tubing from elbow fitting from the membrane. (Fig. 3, Point W) - Remove the black tubing along with the flow restrictor from the system.
