Syslog Settings (Logs>Syslog>settings).

Send a test message to
the Syslog servers configured through the servers option.
1. Select a severity to assign to the test message.
2. Define the test message, according to the required message fields
– The priority (PRI): the Syslog priority assigned to the message’s event, and the
facility code of messages sent by the Management Card.

Enables (by default) or disables the Syslog feature.

Code
Selects the facility code assigned to the Management Card’s Syslog messages
(User, by default).

OTE:User best defines the Syslog messages sent by the Management Card.
Do not change this selection unless advised to do so by the Syslog network or
system administrator.
Severity
Mapping
Maps each severity level of Management Card or Environment events to available
Syslog priorities. You should not need to change the mappings.
The following definitions are from RFC3164:
• Emergency: The system is unusable
• Alert: Action must be taken immediately
• Critical: Critical conditions
• Error: Error conditions
• Warning: Warning conditions
• Notice: Normal but significant conditions
• Informational: Informational messages
• Debug: Debug-level messages
Following are the default settings for the four Local Priority settings:
• Severe is mapped to Critical
• Warning is mapped to Warning
• Informational is mapped to Info
