TCP/IP options. The MasterSwitch Plus uses the following options within
a valid DHCP response to define its TCP/IP settings:
• IP Address (from the yiaddr field of the DHCP response): Provides
the IP address that the DHCP server is leasing to the unit.
• Subnet Mask (option 1): Provides the subnet mask value needed by
the unit to operate on the network.
• Default Gateway (option 3): Provides the default gateway address
needed by the unit to operate on the network.
• Address Lease Time (option 51): Identifies the length of time for the
lease associated with the identified IP Address.
• Renewal Time, T1 (option 58): Identifies how long the unit must wait
after an IP address lease is assigned before it can request a renewal of
that lease.
• Rebinding Time, T2 (option 59): Identifies how long the unit must wait
after an IP address lease is assigned before it can seek to rebind that
lease.
Miscellaneous options. The MasterSwitch Plus uses the following
options within a valid DHCP response to define NTP, DNS, hostname, and
domain name settings:
• NTP Server, Primary and Secondary (option 42): Identifies up to two
NTP servers that can be used by the unit.
• NTP Time Offset (option 2): Specifies the offset, in seconds, of the
subnet for the unit from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
• DNS Server, Primary and Secondary (option 6): Identifies one or two
DNS servers that can be used by the unit.
• Host Name (option 12): Identifies the hostname (maximum length of
32 characters) to be used by the unit.
• Domain Name (option 15): Identifies the domain name (maximum
length of 64 characters) to be used by the unit.
