4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
See section: Description of first aid measures
Notes to Physician: All treatments should be based on observed signs and symptoms of distress in the patient.
Consideration should be given to the possibility that overexposure to materials other than this product may have
occurred.
SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media Dry chemical or CO2
Unsuitable extinguishing
media
Water should not be used unless from safe distance due to vigorous and
exothermic reaction which will result.
5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Unusual Fire and Explosion
Hazards
Hydrogen and oxygen gases are produced during normal battery
operation and charging. These gases escape through the battery vents
and may form an explosive atmosphere around the battery if ventilation
is poor. Avoid open flame, sparks and other ignition sources in areas
where batteries are used and stored.
Hazardous Combustion
Products
Acid mists and vapors, toxic fumes from burning plastic.
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Special protective
equipment for fire-fighters
Wear complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing
apparatus. Wear chemical protective clothing that is specifically
recommended by the manufacturer. It may provide little or no thermal
protection. Fire fighters to wear acid-resistant full protective clothing,
including rubber footwear and self-contained apparatus.
