TCP/IP options. The Automatic Transfer Switch uses the following options
within a valid DHCP response to define its TCP/IP settings:
IP Address (from the yiaddr field of the DHCP response): The IP
address that the DHCP server is leasing to the Automatic Transfer
Switch.
Subnet Mask (option 1): The subnet mask value needed by the
Automatic Transfer Switch to operate on the network.
Default Gateway (option 3): The default gateway address needed by
the Automatic Transfer Switch to operate on the network.
Address Lease Time (option 51): The time duration for the lease
associated with the identified IP Address.
Renewal Time, T1 (option 58): The Automatic Transfer Switch must
wait after an IP address lease is assigned before it can request a
renewal of that lease.
Rebinding Time, T2 (option 59): The time that the Automatic Transfer
Switch must wait after an IP address lease is assigned before it can
seek to rebind that lease.
Other options. The Automatic Transfer Switch uses the following options
within a valid DHCP response to define NTP, DNS, hostname, and domain
name settings:
NTP Server, Primary and Secondary (option 42): Up to two NTP
servers that can be used by the Automatic Transfer Switch.
NTP Time Offset (option 2): The offset, in seconds, of the subnet for
the Automatic Transfer Switch from Coordinated Universal Time
(UTC).
DNS Server, Primary and Secondary (option 6): One or two DNS
servers that can be used by the Automatic Transfer Switch.
Host Name (option 12): The hostname (maximum length of 32
characters) to be used by the Automatic Transfer Switch.
Domain Name (option 15): The domain name (maximum length of 64
characters) to be used by the Automatic Transfer Switch.
