Installation
Install this ATS in accordance to the National Electrical Code (NFPA 75) in the United States, and
install in accordance to the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1-02) in Canada.
When connecting Source 1 to the ATS, install a circuit breaker to protect the ATS from over-current.
This circuit breaker must be rated at 250A. For 208V installations, the circuit breaker must have a
35,000 rms symmetrical ampere rating. For 480V installations, the circuit breaker must have a
65,000 rms symmetrical ampere rating.
Inspection and testing
This ATS shall be inspected weekly and tested monthly by a competent service person, in accordance
with NFPA 110.
Total power off procedure
To reduce risk of electric shock or injury to persons, disconnect all sources of supply before
servicing. To disconnect all sources of supply, follow this procedure:
1. Set the Automatic Operation switch on the dead front of the ATS to Disable.
2. Set the Source 1 switch on the ATS to OFF.
3. Set the Source 2 switch on the ATS to OFF.
4. Set the main Source 1 circuit breaker to OFF.
5. Set the main Source 2 circuit breaker to OFF.
6. If Source 2 is a generator, set the generator control switch to OFF, or set the generator control
switch to Manual, if OFF is not an option.
