10-10 DTMF (DUAL TONE MULTI FREQUENCY)
DTMF tones are used by many VHF/UHF communications services and amateur radio operators to
control switching devices and to enable selective calling. The AR5001D has the capability to decode all
16 DTMF tones.
The decoded DTMF characters will automatically be displayed on the LCD when the function has
been activated.

DTMF tones
To activate the function, perform the following steps:
1. Press the [FUNC] key, and then press the [0] key.
2. Press the [DOWN] key several times to select “DTMF” in reverse contrast.
3. Rotate the sub dial to select on/off.
4. Press the [MHz] key to accept the entry and return to a standard display.
Alternatively, press the [CLR] key to abort entry, or press the [DOWN] key to move to the next item
on the configuration menu.
10-11 PRESEL (PRE-SELECTION FILTER)
The AR5001D has a built-in selectable pre-selection (bandpass) filter which will work for any frequency
below 25 MHz.
To select the pre-selection filter, perform the following steps:
1. Press the [FUNC] key, and then press the [0] key.
2. Press the [DOWN] key several times to select “PRESEL” in reverse contrast.
3. Rotate the sub dial to select on/off.
4. Below is a list of pre-selection filters.
