Using a PD Cartridge
A PD cartridge must be logically formatted prior to use, just as you would similarly
format a floppy disk or hard disk prior to use.
Follow the instructions below to proceed with logical formatting.
Logical formatting
1. Insert the PD cartridge you wish to format into the DVD-RAM drive.
2. Open [My Computer] and click [Removable Disk] icon allocated to DVD-
RAM disc/PD cartridge using the right button of the mouse.
3. On the menu, click [Format] on the menu screen.
4. On the screen, click [Start].
• Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.
• Do not select the "Make bootable" or "Copy system files" options on the
screen. A PD cartridge cannot be used as a system! bootable disc.
• Select "Quick format" when reformatting a PD cartridge that has already
been formatted with the Windows 95 format program. During a quick
format, the message 'Normal formatting required" may appear. If this
happens, click OK button that appears on the screen.
