• Since the file control structure is relatively compared with FAT16, it is not as

good when handling a large number of small files.

• When the UDF format is used for formatting, files will be displayed more slowly

in Explorer.

FAT 16 Format

FAT 16 is Windows 95 OS embedded file system and used for current HDD and PD

cartridge.

• Compared with UDF, it is good for small random files access.

1. Insert the DVD-RAM disc you wish to format into the DVD-RAM drive.

2. From the Start menu, select [Program] -> [Format UDF!] -> [Format UDF!].

Format UDF! Utility starts.

3. Select the DVD-RAM drive which contains the DVD-RAM media by

selecting its SCSI ID:

• The DVD-RAM’s SCSI ID is automatically selected if it is the only device

connected to the specified SCSI interface card.

• As you move the mouse pointer over the SCSI ID’s, the corresponding device’s

information will appear at the bottom of the Format UDF! Dialog box.
