The RS-232 was ori

set to standardize the interconnections of terminals and host computers

h public telephone networks. Its interface presupposes a common

round between the DTE and

DCE. RS232 is used to connect both the EE400-R and PC or Modem in this case. With different pin

specifications, pin assignments are different between DTE (Data Terminal Equipment, usually a

computer or terminal) to DCE (Data Circuit-terminating Equipment, usually a modem) and DTE to DTE.

C-2-1 EE400-R serial port assignment

The serial port of the EE400-R is a D-Sub9, male type connector. Each pin has its own function.
