Notes: For hard water systems with water hardness greater
than 12 grains per gallon, A. O. Smith recommends a water
softener be installed and maintained.
The factory installed/supplied pump is sized to maintain a
T of
25°F through the water heater at 100% fire. In addition to the
pressure loss through the water heater, the factory supplied
pump is sized for an additional 50 feet of equivalent feet of
piping between the water heater and a storage tank. Consult the
factory for systems where the piping between the water heater
and the tank exceed 50 equivalent feet.
