How to assign a password to protect the device
1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Lock.
2. Select the Prompt if device unused for check box. You can specify the time the
device can remains idle before a password is required. You can also choose the
password type in the Password type box.
For a better security, it is recommended to use an alphanumeric password if
your device is configured to connect to a network.
3. On the Hint tab, you can enter a hint to remember the password, which will be
displayed after the incorrect password has been entered four times.
4. Tap ok. You must enter your password next time when the device is turned on.

Whenever the incorrect password is entered, the device response time gets longer
until the device appears to be not responding.

In case that you forget your password, clear the memory on the device following the
instructions in this user guide.
How to change your password
1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Lock.
2. Enter new password in the Password box.
3. On the Hint tab, you can enter a hint to remember the password, which will be
displayed after the wrong password is entered four times.
4. Tap ok.
How to display owner information on the 'my info' screen
It is helpful to enter owner information for identification of the device in case of
loss.
1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Owner Information > Identification tab.
