At this point in time, the Jock-In-the-Box is capable of automating the Pioneer PDM-502 and the PD-
TM4 consumer decks. (The 502 is the 6 CD player, and the TM series holds 18 discs.) The system is also
compatible with the Pioneer CAC-V180M and CAV3200 professional decks. Interfacing the professional
decks is a bit different than interfacing the consumer decks. Coverage of both types of installation will
follow later in this section.
The first step in any CD installation is to place all of the CD decks and the CD server at its final resting
point. The CD server and most CD decks are rack-mountable with the aid of rack shelves. In any event,
please be sure the area where the decks and controller are installed is well ventilated and kept close to
room temperature. Note: The CD controller computer should be placed as close to the CD decks as
possible. The wire runs between the CD server and the CD decks should be kept as short as possible.

All audio lines from the CD players must be routed to the CD summing box. (See below.)
