Auto-Motion Vocal Pattern
Generation
1. Auto-Motion depends on the same Voice
Type, Tracking, Key, and Scale settings
as pitch correction and the Auto-Tune
Vocal Eect. Even if you aren’t doing
pitch correction or using the Auto-Tune
Vocal Eect, be sure to correctly set those
controls.
2. Try using dierent patterns in dierent
parts of your track by using your host’s
automation capability to switch patterns
at the appropriate points in the track.
3. Try triggering a pattern on dierent beats
or beat subdivisions of your track. Starting
a pattern on an obeat or beat subdivision
can have a very dierent rhythmic eect
than starting it on a downbeat.
4. Experiment with triplet or (especially)
dotted-note subdivisions for interesting
polyrhythmic or syncopated results. As in
#3 above, try triggering them on obeats
or beat subdivisions for even more
rhythmic interest
5. Set a pattern to a very fast tempo or small
note subdivision (if using Sync to Host) and
repeatedly retrigger the pattern for an
unusual rhythmic stuttering eect.
6. Have fun!
