All firearms must always be treated as if it were loaded. 4.3 Maintenance Never pick up a firearm by the trigger. Ensure that the firearm is unloaded before and after use and during maintenance and cleaning. Shooting ranges must be adequately ventilated. A bullet trap on the shooting range must be completely safe and visible. No persons may stand in the vicinity of the target during a shoot. 4.4 Transport Firearms should not be used when visibility is poor.

Note ! Before the firearm is used for the first time, the bolt and the inside of the barrel must be de-oiled with a lint-free cloth; see Point 15.3..
Warning! Danger to life Unintentional shooting as a result of a loaded, unsecured firearm. Keep the muzzle pointing in a safe direction. Engage the safety catch after loading the firearm. 8.2 Unloading pen the bolt [3] using your index finger O (pull back in the direction of the arrow to the end stop). [3] 3 The firearm is fully loaded. Engage the safety catch (see Chapter 9).

[13] 3 [12] The safety catch can only be set/released when the firearm is cocked, i.e if the bolt is open (firing pin cocked) or after the loading procedure/bolt closed (firing pin and trigger cocked). The general "Setting the safety/Release" procedure is described as follows. Fig.
10. Filling the magazine 9.2 Releasing the safety catch lose the bolt [3] using your thumb (push in the direction of the arrow C to the end stop). [3] Engage the safety catch (see Chapter 9). 14. Trigger 14.1 Trigger weight Warning! Danger to life! Incorrect calibre in the magazine. Make sure that the firearm is unloaded when carrying out the alignment and adjustment procedures. CAUTION ! Physical damage! Damage to the trigger caused by the bolt not being open when the trigger is changed. Open the bolt when changing the trigger. Adjusting the trigger weight by means of adjusting screw [43]: • Pull the bolt [3] back (in the direction of the arrow to the end stop)..
14.2 First stage weight (only with two stage trigger) If the sear engagement is too long: Adjusting the first stage weight by means of adjusting screw [42]: • turning clockwise = first stage weight is increased (+). • turning anticlockwise = first stage weight is reduced (-). There is a short travel from the two stage to the release of the trigger (so-called "pull" or "tug"). The trigger and first stage weights are mechanically interdependent.
14.4 First stage travel (only with two stage triggers) 14.6 Adjusting the trigger blade First stage travel denotes the travel of the trigger blade from the zero position to the two stage. Release the clamping screw for the trigger blade [40]; the trigger blade can both be moved along the guide and also pivoted to the side.
14.8 S witching from a single stage to a two stage trigger • • • 3 T urn the trigger stop adjusting screw [41] approx. 2 1/2 turns anticlockwise (setting the max. trigger stop longer). Release the safety catch and cock the rifle. Turn adjusting screw [39] clockwise by approx. 2 1/2 turns. The two stage is now perceptible. T o set the optimum sear engagement, the procedure in Chapter 14.3 ("Setting the optimum sear engagement") must be followed.
15. Maintenance/cleaning Note ! 15.1 General After each use of the firearm, apply a thin film of oil to the steel parts and thoroughly clean the barrel. When the rifle is transported from cold to warm rooms, condensation can form on the metal parts and inside the barrel. If this condensation is not quickly dried off, it can lead to surface rust formation under certain circumstances. Warning! Danger to life! Danger to life from a loaded firearm.
CAUTION ! Always look out for any changes or damage that may occur to the firearm. In the event of a change or damage, the firearm must immediately be taken to an authorised gunsmith or sent to ANSCHÜTZ for inspection. 15.2 Cleaning the barrel L ightly oil the plastic brush and push it through the barrel from the cartridge chamber end with a suitable cleaning rod. Note ! It is essential to re-oil the barrel after using ammonia-containing cleaning agents, to avoid the risk of corrosion. 15.
With new rifles (up to 10,000 shots) at 1,000 shot intervals and then at a min. of 5,000 shot intervals • • • • • lean the barrel from the chamber to the muzzle using a suitable C barrel cleaner and a brass brush. Do not pull the brush backwards and forwards in the barrel. Unscrew the brass brush outside the muzzle and carefully pull the cleaning rod back through the barrel.
