System Performance
Verification
4-1 INTRODUCTION This chapter provides specific procedures to be used to verify that the
MS462XX is making accurate S-parameter measurements. You should
perform these verification procedures at least once annually.
It is suggested that the tests in the preceding chapter (Operational Per
-
formance Tests) be performed prior to performing the tests described in
this chapter. The operational performance tests are designed to verify the
instrument performance in a wide variety of operating modes that may
only be partially tested in this chapter.
Performance verification for all MS362XX VNMS instruments (excluding
C model-based measurement systems) is accomplished solely by use of a
software program used in conjuction with Anritsu Calibration and Verifi-
cation kits. This process is described in Section 4-3.
Performance verification for the C model-based measurement systems as
a stand-alone instrument is found in Sections 3-6 and 3-7. The MS462XC
instrument may be contained within a larger measurement system that
includes a test set and a PC with software (for example, the ME7840A
Power Amplifier Test System, the ME7842B Tower Mounted Amplifier
Test System, or the ME7840/4 Handset Amplifier Test System). If such a
system requires verification, the MS462XC may be verified using the in
-
structions in Sections 3-6 and 3-7 of this manual and the remainder of
the system must be verified using the instructions found in other Mainte
-
nance Manuals created for those systems.
