The Cartridge
Filling the Cartridge
Refer to the Instructions for Use included with your cartridges.
Connecting the Tubing to the Cartridge
These steps must be followed in order.
To complete this section, you will need the following:
Filled Animas® 2.0 mL Cartridge • (200 unit/2ml)*
• Infusion set compatible with your Animas® 2020**
Skin prep such as Skin Prep®•
*Efficacy of pump cannot be guaranteed if cartridges other than those manufactured by
Animas Corporation are used.
**Note: Only infusion sets marketed for use with insulin infusion pumps using insulin-
compatible tubing and with a standard Luer lock can be used with Animas® pumps.
Efficacy of pump cannot be guaranteed if infusion sets other than those specified are used.
Do not connect  infusion set to your body until after you have completed the
Prime process.
1. Clean the workspace where you will be connecting the infusion set to the cartridge.
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
2. Open sterile infusion set package carefully. If the package is damaged or opened,
use another set and contact your supplier.
3. Unscrew the cartridge compartment cap from the pump, using a counter-clockwise
motion.
4. Remove infusion set tubing cap from the Luer connector. (Not all infusion sets have
these caps.)
5. After removing protective cap, thread the Luer connector of the infusion set through
the top (smaller) opening of the cartridge compartment cap, being careful not to touch
Luer connector with hands or work surface.
