5. Low Power EU Maintenance
5.1. General
Read and observe chapter 1.2 Health and Safety.
Note: The Extension Unit does not require preventative maintenance
measures.
Maintenance of the ION-U Low Power units should be performed by replacing only
components that are described in this chapter. In order to maintain the warranty,
avoid unintentional damage to the seals on the modules.
The spare parts list includes only units that can be replaced in the field without tuning
or soldering work.
Please contact your CommScope sales representative or DCCS Technical Support
for a current ION-U LP EU parts list.
Note: When sending back the unit, use appropriate packaging. Use of the
original packaging for shipping the unit is strongly recommended.
Note: Defective parts should only be replaced by original parts from the
supplier. All service work performed inside the housing is performed at
the users own risk.
Note: Label any unlabelled cables before disconnecting them to ensure
correct reconnection.
For most maintenance procedures, appropriate tools are required to ensure correct
handling. All of these tools can be ordered from the supplier.
Note: All unit screws have a right-hand thread, and are tightened by turning
the screws clockwise and loosened by turning them counter-clockwise
with an appropriate tool.
Due to the design of the Extension Unit, the power supply is the only component that
should be replaced in the field. Please contact the supplier for replacement of any
other components.
