19 Cleaning
19.1 Battery, Battery Harness, Connecting Cord and
AP Adapter
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation, unplug the battery before carrying out any
cleaning work, @ 6. Users of this battery should carry out
only the cleaning described in this manual.
To clean the battery, battery harness, connecting cord and
AP Adapter:
► Clean dust and dirt off the battery, connecting cord and
AP Adapter with a dry cloth or soft, dry brush.
► Clean dust and dirt off the battery harness with a brush or
damp cloth.
► Do not use solvents or aggressive detergents. They may
damage the polymer housing and other components.
► Do not spray the battery, connecting cord or AP Adapter
with water or other liquids.
19.2 Contact Surfaces of the Connecting Cord
► Disconnect the backpack battery, @ 13.4.
► Clean the contact surfaces (1) with a dry cloth.
► If a discoloration (arrow) is still visible on the contact
surfaces: Sand down the discoloration with an extra fine
P 600 sand paper until the contact surfaces shine again.
20.1 Inspecting and Maintaining the Battery, Battery
Harness, Connecting Cord and AP Adapter
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation, remove the battery from the power tool or charger
before carrying out any inspection, cleaning or maintenance,
@ 6. Carry out only the maintenance operations described
in this manual. There are no user-authorized repairs. STIHL
recommends that repair work be performed by authorized
STIHL servicing dealers.
Proper maintenance of the battery, battery harness,
connecting cord and AP Adapter includes the following
activities:
► Having worn, missing or damaged safety labels replaced
by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer.
If you make a warranty claim for a component which has not
been serviced or maintained properly, coverage may be
denied.
