2. DETERMINE HINGE SIDE: STEP 2A A. The storm door has been designed for either left or right hinged installation. Position the door frame in the door opening. The hinge side will be the side that is the door pivot point. Be sure that the window retainers are to the interior of the door. Looking from the exterior of a home: • A right hinged door will have the handle on the left. • A left hinged door will have the handle on the right. Hinge side handle side handle side B.

. CUT HINGE SIDE Z-BAR TO LENGTH: BRICKMOLD STEP 5A A. To fit the hinge side Z-bar into the opening, you will need to cut the hinge side Z-bar to the same length as the opening height of your door. RAIN CAP B. Measure the door opening height on hinge side from the underside of the rain cap to the top of the door sill. This is the measurement that you will use to cut hinge side Z-bar to length. 7. SECURE RAIN CAP: A. Adjust the rain cap so there is an equal space between the rain cap and the top edge of the door. TOP BRICKMOLD SCREW TRACK B. Drill two (2) 1/8” pilot holes through the remaining mounting holes and install two (2) #8 x 1” screws. MOUNTING HOLES RAIN CAP HINGE EQUAL SPACE DOOR EXTERIOR VIEW 8. CUT AND INSTALL HANDLE SIDE Z-BAR: A. To determine which end of the handle side Z-bar is top, hold handle side Z-bar up to door opening opposit hinge side Z-bar.

9. ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL SWEEP: A. Slide the sweep fin into the fin track flush with sweep end. Use pliers to squeeze track legs on both ends of sweep to fasten fin and trim off excess. STEP 9A IMPORTANT DOOR FRAME If applicable, remove protective tape from sweep. MOUNTING slots B. Slide sweep over base of door with mounting slots on inside of door. Align end of door sweep with handle side edge of door frame. Position sweep so both ends of sweep fin touch door sill completey.

12. INSTALL EDGE SEAL: A. Open the door and place the edge seal on the latch side of the door as shown. The rounded face of the edge seal should be to the exterior. Make sure the end of the edge seal is flush against the door frame lip. DOOR FRAME LIP STEP 12C EDGE SEAL B. Slide the edge seal up so that it is flush with the top of the door, not the door frame lip. Drill a 1/8” pilot hole through the mounting holes and into the door frame edge. EDGE SEAL C.

15. INSTALL DOOR CLOSERS: I M P O R TA N T Make sure door will open and close freely before mounting closers. A. The push button closer will be temporarily installed at the top of the door for placement/preset reasons only. step 15b FOR PLACEMENT AND PRESET PURPOSES ONLY B. Attach push button closer rod to jamb bracket with short pin. With closer attached, depress push button and then extend closer rod approximately 1/4”-3/8”. Closer rod should lock into first position. If not, repeat the above process.

16. adjusting the closer: A. Unhook bottom closer by removing the pin that attaches it to the door bracket. Swing the bottom closer back out of the way. B. Open the door all the way and let it close, noting the current closing speed. C. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, turn the adjustment screw on the top closer at 1/4 turn intervals until the desired closing speed is achieved and the door latches shut completely. • For faster closing speed, turn adjustment screw to the left (counterclockwise).

REGULAR MAINTENANCE WINDOW GLASS – The glass may be cleaned with any household glass cleaner. Keep glass cleaners away from painted parts and brass/nickel components. PLASTIC PARTS – Plastic door components may be cleaned by using a mild soap and water mixture and by gently rubbing the affected area. Do not use harsh abrasives or any product that contains chlorine. ALUMINUM PARTS – Aluminum parts on the door may be cleaned by using a mild soap and water mixture and by gently rubbing the affected area.

2. DETERMINAR EL LADO DE LAS BISAGRAS: A. L a puerta contra intemperie fue diseñada para su instalación con las bisagras a la izquierda o a la derecha. Ubique el marco de la puerta en la abertura de la puerta. El lado de las bisagras es el lado donde se encuentra el punto de pivote de la puerta. Asegúrese de que las bandas de retención de la ventana estén en el interior de la puerta. Mirando desde el exterior de la vivienda: • Una puerta con bisagra a la derecha tendrá la manija a la izquierda.

5. CORTAR EL PERFIL EN Z DEL LADO DE LAS BISAGRAS A LA LONGITUD ADECUADA: A. P ara calzar el perfil en Z del lado de las bisagras en la abertura, deberá cortarlo del mismo largo que la altura de la abertura de su puerta. B. Mida la altura de la abertura de la puerta del lado de las bisagras desde abajo de la tapa para lluvia hasta la parte superior del umbral de la puerta. Esta es la medida que usará para cortar el perfil en Z del lado de las bisagras a la longitud adecuada.

7. ASEGURAR LA TAPA PARA LLUVIA: A. A juste la tapa para lluvia de modo que haya un espacio igual entre la tapa para lluvia y el borde superior de la puerta. B. 9. ARMAR E INSTALAR LA TERRAJA: A. Deslice la aleta de la terraja en el paso para aleta nivelada con el extremo de la terraja. Use pinzas para apretar las patas del paso en ambos extremos de la terraja para ajustar la aleta y cortar el exceso. PASO 9A IMPORTANTE MARCO DE LA PUERTA Ranuras de MONTAJE Si corresponde, retire la cinta protectora de la terraja. B. Deslice la terraja sobre la base de la puerta con las ranuras de montaje en el interior de la puerta.

12. INSTALAR LA CUBIERTA DEL BORDE: A. Abra la puerta y coloque la cubierta del borde del lado de la cerradura de la puerta como se indica. La cara redondeada de la cubierta debe quedar hacia el exterior. Asegúrese de que la cubierta del borde quede nivelada contra el borde del marco de la puerta. B. Deslice la cubierta del borde hacia arriba de modo que quede nivelada con la parte superior de la puerta, no con el borde del marco de la puerta.

16. Ajustar el cerrador: A. Desenganche el cerrador inferior retirando el pasador que lo sujeta al soporte de puerta. Gire el cerrador inferior de la puerta hacia atrás para que no provoque obstrucciones. B. Abra la puerta hasta el ángulo al que ésta llegue y deje que se cierre, observando la velocidad de cierre. MANTENIMIENTO REGULAR VIDRIO DE LA VENTANA – El vidrio puede limpiarse con cualquier limpiador para vidrios de uso doméstico. Mantenga los limpiadores para vidrio lejos de las partes pintadas y los componentes de latón/níquel. PARTES DE PLÁSTICO – Los componentes de plástico de la puerta pueden limpiarse usando una mezcla de agua y jabón suave y frotando ligeramente el área afectada. No utilice abrasivos fuertes ni productos que contengan cloro.

2. DÉTERMINATION DU CÔTÉ CHARNIÈRES : A. L a contre-porte a été conçue pour être installée à gauche ou à droite. Posez le cadre de porte dans l’ouverture de la porte. Le côté des charnières est celui qui permettra à la porte de pivoter. Assurezvous que les dispositifs de retenue de fenêtre se trouvent du côté intérieur de la porte. Lorsqu’on regarde de l’extérieur : •S ur une porte avec les charnières du côté droit, la poignée se trouve à gauche.

5. COUPE DU MONTANT EN Z CÔTÉ CHARNIÈRES À LA BONNE LONGUEUR : A. P our que le montant en Z côté charnières corresponde à l’ouverture, il faut le couper à la même longueur que la hauteur de l’ouverture de la porte. ÉTAPE 5A B. M esurez la hauteur d’ouverture de la porte côté charnières depuis le bas du rejéteau jusqu’au dessus du seuil de la porte. C’est la longueur à laquelle il faut couper le montant en Z côté charnières.

7. FIXATION DU REJÉTEAU : A. A justez le rejéteau de façon à maintenir une distance égale entre le rejéteau et le bord supérieur de la porte. B. P ercez deux avant-trous de 1/8 po en passant par les trous de montage restants et posez deux vis n° 8 x 1 po. 9. ASSEMBLAGE ET INSTALLATION DU COUPE-BISE : A. Faites glisser la lame de coupe-bise dans le rail de façon à ce qu’elle affleure au bout du coupe-bise. Utilisez des pinces pour plier les bords de rail aux deux extrémités du coupe-bise pour bien fixer la lame et coupez l’excédent. ÉTAPE 9A IMPORTANT : CADRE DE PORTE FENTES DE MONTAGE S’il y a lieu, ôtez le ruban protecteur du coupe-bise. B.

12. INSTALLATION DU JOINT EN EXTRÉMITÉ : A. Ouvrez la porte et placez le joint en extrémité du côté poignée de la porte, tel qu’il est illustré. La surface arrondie du joint en extrémité devrait donner vers l’extérieur. Assurez-vous que l’extrémité du joint en extrémité affleure le rebord du cadre de porte. REBORD DU CADRE DE PORTE ÉTAPE 12C JOINT EN EXTRÉMITÉ B. Faites glisser le joint en extrémité vers le haut de façon à ce qu’il affleure le sommet de la porte, et non le rebord du cadre de porte.

15. INSTALLATION DU FERME-PORTE : I M P O R TA N T : Assurez-vous que la porte s’ouvre et se ferme bien avant d’installer les ferme-porte. A. Le ferme-porte à bouton-poussoir sera installé temporairement au sommet de la porte à des fins de pose et de réglage préliminaire seulement. B. Fixez la tige du ferme-porte à bouton-poussoir à l’attache du montant de la porte au moyen du goujon court. Une fois le fermeporte fixé, appuyez sur le bouton-poussoir, puis sortez la tige d’environ 1/4 à 3/8 po.

16. RÉGLAGE DU FERME-PORTE : A. Décrochez le ferme-porte inférieur en retirant le goujon qui le fixe à l’attache de la porte. Repoussez le ferme-porte inférieur. B. Ouvrez la porte complètement et laissez-la se refermer, tout en prenant en note sa vitesse de fermeture actuelle. C.

ENTRETIEN RÉGULIER VITRES DES FENÊTRES – On peut nettoyer les vitres à l’aide de n’importe quel détergent. Évitez de mettre de ces produits sur les pièces peintes et les composants en laiton ou en nickel. PIÈCES EN PLASTIQUE – On peut nettoyer les pièces en plastique de la porte en les frottant doucement à l’aide d’eau légèrement savonneuse. N’utilisez pas d’abrasifs rêches ni de produits contenant du chlore.
