A. Position the rain cap against the top
brickmold (with fuzzy edge of weath-
erstripping facing outward), centered
between door jambs.
B. Holding rain cap in place, drill a 1/8”
pilot hole through rain cap mounting
hole into the brickmold on the side
you will hinge the door.
C. Fasten rain cap with one (1) #8 x
1” screw. Do not install remaining
screws yet.
A. Stand the door against the side of the
house or other stable surface with the
“TOP” sticker at the top of the door.
The bottom of the door will have one
insect screen retainer with slots in it.
B. Carefully slide both windows down
about one (1) foot and remove the two
pieces of foam that were above them.
C. Position the track cover with the slots at bottom of door, as shown in
the diagram. Center insect screen retainer in door track. Lock front
lip of insect screen retainer under lip of retainer track.
D. Use forefinger to apply pressure to inner corner of the insect screen
retainer to snap it into the track.
E. Repeat steps C and D to install the top insect screen retainer. The top insect screen
retainer will not have slots. Place in the outside door track, closest to the insect screen.

Remove the packaging foam and install the insect screen retainers per instructions in step 2. Failure to follow these
steps may prevent the windows from functioning properly or cause injury.
WARNING
!
• A right hinged door will have the handle on the left.
• A left hinged door will have the handle on the right.
A. The storm door has been designed for either left or right
hinged installation. Position the door frame in the
door opening. The hinge side will be the side that is the
door pivot point. Be sure that the window retainers
are to the interior of the door.
B. While door frame is in door opening, hold interior handle
(from handle set parts box) in place to make sure it will
not interfere with the handle of your front door. If your
handles interfere, hinge on opposite side.
C. All illustrations are shown for a right hinged installation.
You may wish to mark the hinge side of the door with a
piece of tape for reference.
