TPDesign3 Touch Panel Program
Defining External Buttons
This feature is only available on touch panels that support external pushbuttons. If your touch panel
project doesn't support external pushbuttons, that feature will be inaccessible from the Panel drop-
down menu.
1. Select External Buttons to open the External Buttons dialog box (FIG. 21).
2. Select either the Show Button Properties or Show Programming Description option from the
When a Button is Clicked section of the dialog box.
! The When a Button is Clicked / Show Button Properties shows the Button Properties
dialog box for the selected external button.
! The When a Button is Clicked / Show Programming Description shows the Button
Programming Description dialog box for the selected external button.
3. Click on any of the displayed buttons to open either of the dialog boxes shown in FIG. 22.
The Button Programming Description dialog box is focused toward the panel programmer and
allows you to provide property identifiers/information relating to a specific button or to all
buttons of a specific type. This information is printed out with the Description option of
File > Print/Print Preview.
4. Click OK to accept any changes made to either of these dialog boxes and return to the External
Buttons dialog box.
5. Click the X located in the upper-right hand to exit from the External Buttons dialog box and
return to the main program.
