Overview DXLink Fiber, Duplex

Applicability Notice

The information in this manual applies to the AMX DXLink Fiber Transmitters and Receivers, Duplex listed in the

table below. These units handle simultaneous, bidirectional data transfer. They are available in both multimode and

single mode models (which differ only in respect to their transceivers which support different cable lengths).

Throughout this manual, the phrase “DXLink Fiber units” will be used when referring generically to all four of the

DXLink Fiber, Duplex product models.

When referring to specific Duplex models, they will be described as follows:

Multi-Format MMF-D TX*

HDMI MMF-D RX*

Multi-Format SMF-D TX**

HDMI SMF-D RX**

* MMF-D = multimode fiber - duplex

** SMF-D = single mode fiber - duplex

DXLink Fiber Transmitters and Receivers, Duplex

^ On the rear of both Transmitter units, the number will be FG1010-36X, indicating they share a common metal box design.

^^ On the rear of both Receiver units, the number will be FG1010-56X, indicating they share a common metal box design.

The multimode and single mode fiber optic transceivers allow for in-the-field replacement.

Compatibility Note: In Enova DGX systems using DXLink Fiber technology – the DXLink Fiber Input Board

and its DXLink Fiber TX, Duplex must have the same type of fiber optic transceivers: either multimode or

single mode. The same holds true for DXLink Fiber Output Boards and the DXLink Fiber RX, Duplex units.

Important: Use of a DXLink Fiber Transmitter and Receiver as a standalone pair

will be supported in a future firmware upgrade.
