PROGRAM Port
The PROGRAM port is a DB-9 male RS-232 port that connects the DVX to a communication port on a PC, and is
intended primarily to be used to configure system settings.
FIG. 47 displays the PROGRAM port.

The following table shows the rear panel Program Port connector (male), pinouts, and signals.
ID Pushbutton
The ID pushbutton sets the NetLinx ID assignments of the Internal Control Device. It has no effect on the Internal
Switcher Device. Only the 5001 ID can be changed. It is not possible to change the 5002 device ID.

LAN (RJ-45)
The LAN RJ-45 port provides 10/100 Mbps communication via Category cable. This is an Auto MDI/MDI-X enabled
port, which allows you to use either straight-through or crossover Ethernet cables.

The LAN port automatically negotiates the connection speed (10 Mbps or 100 Mbps), and whether to use half duplex or
full duplex mode. This communication is reflected via the front ICSP LED.

Note: The PROGRAM port is not recommended for
firmware updates or large file transfers. Any large
data-intensive operations are better handled via
LAN.
