Failure to restore the database when the database location is not the default location
Issue:Ifauserselectsadatabasefromanotherlocationinsteadofthedefaultlocation(Forexample,
C:\VntiExpressDesigner_Database),databaserestorationwillnotfunction..
Workaround:Ensurethatthedefaultdatabaseisselectedbeforeperformingdatabaserestoration.
The default vector pACYC177 is not available in the Vector Subset
Issue:IfauserselectsadifferentvectorintheVectorPreparedialogboxandtriestore‐usethedefault
vector,theuserisunabletodothatasthevectoristhennotavailableintheVectorList.
Workaround:CopytheVector,pACYC177,intoVectorSubsetmanually.
Software is unresponsive while performing Auto Design with multiple unlocked parts
Issue:IfauserunlocksmanypartstoperformAutoDesign,thesoftwarewillbeunresponsiveandno
resultwillbegenerated.
Workaround:UnlocklesserpartstoperformAutoDesign.
Unable to perform GeneArt Web Optimization and submission of GeneArt projects without
restarting of application after a user has changed the Internet Setting in the Preferences
Issue:IfauserchangestheInternetsettingandperformsGeneArtWebOptimizationorsubmissionof
GeneArtprojects,thesoftwarewillpromptanerror,“FailedtoconnecttotheGeneArtserver”.
Workaround:Re‐launchtheapplicationafteranychangeismadetotheInternetSettingsforthesettings
totakeeffect.
Unable to add characterization data in Part/Device/Circuit when there is no attachment added
Issue:UserisunabletoaddcharacterizationdatainaPart/Device/CircuitintheDesignerCanvaswhen
thereisnoattachmentbeingadded.
Workaround:AddanattachmentwhenaddingcharacterizationdatainaPart/Device/Circuitinthe
DesignerCanvas.
Unable to add Part rule to the Source_Organism property
Issue:Systemshowstheerror,“Invalidinput”whileaddingaPartruletotheSource_Organism
property.
Workaround:Performthefollowing:
1. IntheInformationPane,gotothePropertiestabandwithinClassification,selectaGroup/Class
forSource_Organism.
2. UndertheRules/AutoDesigntab,selectanotherpropertythathasadrop‐downoptionlistforits
values;forexample,Host_Organism.ClickAddRule.
3. Nowyoucanselecttheproperty,Source_OrganismtoaddasaPartRule.



