Release Notes for Version 1.0 Open Issues in Version 1.0 Part Assembly - Failure to import the GenBank file of the final construct molecule into the Vector NTI® Express Designer Software application Issue: The exported GenBank file for molecules created using vector pSB1A3 from the Assembly Compatibility tool cannot be re‐imported back into the Vector NTI® Express Designer Software. Workaround: Open the exported Genbank file using text editor, go to the Feature section, and change “Misc.
Workaround: The duplicate warning messages are the same. Clicking on either of the messages will bring up the dialog box for the correction action. Incorrect highlighting of the Type II RE cloning Sequence Issue: Type II RE cloning Sequence is highlighted incorrectly on the selected cut restriction site overhang feature on Vector Selection dialog. Workaround: The correct Overhang sequence of the feature is displayed in the area under the Sequence Viewer pane in the Prepare Vector dialog box.
Failure to restore the database when the database location is not the default location Issue: If a user selects a database from another location instead of the default location (For example, C:\VntiExpressDesigner_Database), database restoration will not function.. Workaround: Ensure that the default database is selected before performing database restoration.

The software is not designed to run on multi‐processor machines; such configurations cannot be guaranteed to operate successfully.
Note: During uninstall, you will be prompted to save your old database. After uninstall is complete, double‐click on the installer again to begin the installation. 3. If prompted with a security warning, press Run to proceed. 4. In the next screen, click on Next. 5. In the next screen, accept the license agreement and click Next.
6. In the next screen, click on Next to accept the default install directory, or Browse to select a different one. Note: We recommend installing Vector NTI® Express Designer on a computer hard drive, not a network drive. 7. In the next screen, click on Install. 8. During installation, a local Vector NTI® Express Designer database is created. This database initially contains a set of standard vectors and other molecules from Life Technologies. 9.
Launch the software Windows® operating systems: A desktop icon and Start menu folder will be created during installation. Double‐click on the icon or select the application from the Start menu to launch the software. Mac® OS: To launch the software, go to /Applications/VectorNTIExpressDesigner.app. License the software New installations of Vector NTI® Express Designer will open in Demo Mode, which allows you to perform limited operations with the software.
Enter the license number Note: To license Vector NTI® Express Designer, you need a new License Number. If you have no connection to the internet, you also need a new Registration Key. The Registration Key is provided by Life Technologies based on your License number and Hardware ID. After you receive a license from Life Technologies, you can enter it into Vector NTI® Express Designer using the License Manager: 1. Go to Help > License Manager. 2.
Static License To enter a Static License: 1. In the Applications tab, click the Static button. 2. Enter your information in the appropriate fields. 3. In the License # field, enter the Vector NTI® Express Designer static license number provided in the email you received from Life Technologies. The hardware ID is pre‐loaded in its text box. 4. Personal Static License: You must have an internet connection for this type of static license. Click the Apply button.
