7.1 Overview

Honeywell Inc.
LCN Hardware
and Software
Messages
LCN messages communicate TDC 3000 hardware and software errors. These
system messages display in the Message Summary. Press <MSG SUMM> on the
console to display.
Run Time
Messages and
Process History
For run time messages and process history, look in the event history journal. The
Control Engineer is responsible for configuring the system journal information.
This is usually done as part of the advanced process control design.
Controlling Where
Messages are
Sent
F(1) and F(2) on the controller point can be used to control where most Profit
Optimizer messages are sent.
F(1) controls whether messages are sent to the Message Journal; by default, F(1) is
ON and messages go to the Message Journal.. F(2) controls whether messages are
sent to the Messages Summary; by default, F(2) = OFF.
Some critical messages are not affected by these flags.
Questions? Call
TAC
Except for errors that require assistance from Honeywell's Technical Assistance
Center (these are pointed out), the message descriptions and suggested responses
provided in this section should be enough to remedy most conditions.
Any time you have difficulty understanding a message or isolating and correcting
an error, call the Honeywell Technical Assistance Center. The number for the
Honeywell Technical Assistance Center appears at the front of this book.
