Profit Optimizer’s DQP CV Detail – Field Descriptions and User Notes
Field
Description
Field Type Default Access
User Notes
Active
Read-Only No Access
The high limit value that the controller is using
at this execution.
• This parameter keeps the controller from over-
reacting to what it would otherwise perceive as
a continued limit violation while ramping to a
new limit.
• Unless the controller is actively ramping the
CV, this value is the same as the high limit.
• Active limits π Hi/Lo limits when [CONTROL
THIS CV] = NO.
Status
Read-Only No Access
GOOD, DROP, PRED, CRIT, INIT, WDUP, or
INAC.
See CV, MV, DV, BDV and CC Statuses in Section
2.2 for status descriptions.
Critical CV
Target ENG
• YES = CV is critical.
• NO = CV is not critical.
The optimizer shuts down (OFF) when critical CVs
go bad (are not available).
Control This CV
Target OPER
• YES = Use this CV in the control solution.
• NO = CV is dropped, disregarded in the
control solution.
# of Bad Reads
Allowed
Target ENG
The number of consecutive bad values
allowed:
• A predicted value is used for bad values
up to the number of bad reads allowed.
• Bad values display as - - - - - dashes, and
the CV shows a yellow PRED status.
When allowed bad reads are exceeded:
• Critical CVs – Optimizer shuts down, and
CV shows a red CRIT status.
• Non Critical CVs – CV is dropped and
shows a yellow DROP status.
WARNING
Running the optimizer with bad values can have
serious consequences. Do not set this parameter
>1 unless you are thoroughly familiar with your
process.
Opt Error Tolerance
Target ENG
The allowable deviation past the low or high
limit before optimization halts and constraint
handling begins.
