Changing CV, MV Operating Ranges
Procedure
Table A-2 How to Change the CV and MV Operating Ranges
Step Action Comments
1 Make sure that the controller you want displays in the
current controller box on the Controller Bar.
Select controllers from the
Application Menu
2
If Changing Then . . .
CV Range Call CV Detail display.
MV Range Call MV Detail display.
3 Select either the low or high limit target.
4 Enter the new value.
5 Press <ENTER>.
6 Repeat Steps 3-5 if you are changing both ends of the
operating range.
Notes
DVs cannot be controlled, so they do not have operating ranges.
Setting CV high and low limits equal establishes a setpoint for the variable.
Setting critical MV high and low limits equal shuts down the controller.
Setting non critical MV high and low limits makes the MV unavailable.
Unavailable MVs are either dropped or used as feedforward values, depending
upon the configuration (which is set on the MV Detail display).
Profit Optimizer is fail safe, and will not let you transpose limits (will not let
you enter a high limit lower than the low limit, or enter a low limit higher than
the high limit).
