AXB-PT15 PosiTrack Camera Controller
Wiring Guidelines
In most installations, the PosiTrack Controllers require a local 12 VDC-compliant power supply to
operate properly. The maximum wiring distance between the power supply and the PosiTrack
Controller is determined by power consumption, supplied voltage, and the wire gauge used for the
cable. The following wiring table lists wire sizes and the maximum lengths allowable between the
PosiTrack unit and the power supply. The maximum wiring lengths are based on a minimum of
13.5 VDC, available at the power supply output.
To reduce the possible effects of ground loop noise in the video, use a single-source power supply
mounted within distances specified in the following table.
Preparing captive wires
You will need a wire stripper and flat-blade screwdriver to prepare and connect the captive wires.
1. Strip 0.25 inch (6.35 mm) of insulation off all wires.
2. Insert each wire into the appropriate opening on the connector (according to the wiring
diagrams and connector types described in this section).
3. Tighten the screws to secure the wire in the connector. Do not tighten the screws excessively;
doing so may strip the threads and damage the connector.
The AXB-PT15 power rating is 4 A @ 12 VDC.
