10. INSTALLING THE FLUES
The boiler is easy and exible to install thanks to the extensive range of available acces-
sories, as described below. The boiler has been designed for connection to a vertical or
horizontal concentric ue.
WARNINGS
C13, C33 The terminals for separate ues must be tted in accordance with the BS stan-
dard and the Clean Air Act 1993. Detailed instructions are provided with the individual
accessories.
For optimal installation, the accessories supplied by the manufacturer should
be used.
TABLE 1A
If the ue and air ducts installed are not supply by POTTERTON
COMMERCIAL, make sure they are certitied for the type of use and
have a maximum pressure drop as indicated in the table to the side.

To optimise operating safety, make sure the ues are rmly xed to the wall with suitable brackets for every 1 metre of ue..
Make sure there is a minimum downward slope of 5 cm per metre of duct towards the boiler.
SOME OUTLET FLUE INSTALLATION EXAMPLES AND THEIR RELATIVE MAXIMUM LENGTHS ARE SHOWN IN ANNEX “SEC-
TION” D AT THE END OF THIS MANUAL.
10.1 CONCENTRIC FLUES
This type of ue is used to discharge exhaust fumes and draw
combustion air both outside the building. The 87° concentric
bend allows the boiler to be connected to a ue-air in any di-
rection as it can be rotated by 360° It can also be used as a
supplementary curve combined with a concentric ue or a 45°
bend.
If fumes are discharged outside the building, the ue-air must
protrude at least 200 mm from the wall to allow an aluminium
weathering surround to be tted and sealed to avoid water in-
ltrations.
The 87° bend reduces the total ue length by 1 metre.
The 45° bend reduces the total ue length by 0.5 me-
tres.
The rst 87° bend is not included when calculating the maximum available length.
10.2 CASCADE FLUES
This type of ue evacuates the products of combustion of more than one boiler in a cascade connection through a shared ue
header. The header may only be used to connect the boilers to the ue.

In this outlet typology, a ue no-return valve, Ø 80/110 mm, must be tted to each boiler. Change the parameter P60(a) as
shown in table following the procedure described in chapter 14.
The ue header size must be calculated by a qualied technician during the system design stage, as required by current regu-
lations.
