Use of SIP
SIP, initial of Session-Initiation-Proto-
col, it is an application-layer control
(signaling) protocol for creating, modi-
fying, and terminating sessions with
one or more participants. These ses-
sions include Internet telephone calls,
multimedia distribution, and multime-
dia conferences. In short, SIP is a most
commonly used protocol that has been
used to interconnect SIP Enabled PBXs
and/or SIP User Agents to each other
to establish voice and video sessions
between SIP based devices over IP
Network.
