window,
the
line

data which scrolls
off the
screen need
not be
scrolling
out of
memory.
And the
line
of
data which scrolls
out of
memory need
not be the
one
scrolling
off
screen (see

The
distinction here
is
important: what scrolls
off
the
screen
but
remains
in
memory
can be
redisplayed; what scrolls
out of
memory
is
"lost",
it
cannot
be
redisplayed.
