DISPLAYING
DATA
There
are
several choices which
affect
how all
data
is
displayed
on the
screen.
3.2.1 Video Background
The
background
may be set to
either normal (light letters against
a
dark background)
or
reverse
(dark letters against
a
light background) video, either
by
going into Set-Up (Line
1)
or
by
using
one of the
following sequences
Video
Sequence Set-Up
normal
ESCd
NORVID
reverse
ESCb
REVVID
3.2.2 Video Attributes
Each character displayed
on the
screen
has two
components:
a
datum attribute
(essentially, what letter
it is) and a
video component (its appearance
on the
screen).
The
video attribute
of
characters
may be
changed, either
before
or
after
entering
the
character.
Video
In
addition
to
normal (the same
as the
background),
a
character
may be
displayed with
any
of
five attributes:
blank (character
not
displayed)
flash
reverse
(opposite
the
background)
underline
half-intensity (dim)
and
with
any
combination
of
these: e.g.
underline
reverse
underline reverse flash
flash
half-intensity
