Previous ACL Model Name and Address Assignments
B.1 Introduction
This appendix provides data transfer, transport and storage element names and address
assignments for the previous DST 2XX, 4XX, and 8XX series ACLs. These model series
consisted of:
Series DST Model Names
DST 2XX 220i, 222i, 260i and 262i
DST 4XX 410, 412
DST 8XX 810, 812, 820i, 822i, 860i, and 862i
Series 2XX and 4XX
Series 8XX
Data Transfer
Element
The ACL has one tape drive named DR1. Its address is 100 (0x64).
Transport
Element
The ACL cartridge handling system is named CHS. It comprises the
assemblies necessary to transfer tape cartridges between the storage bins and
the tape drive. Its address is 01.
Storage
Element
The ACL contains seven storage bins named A01 through A07 (from top to
bottom). Their addresses are 1000 / 0x3E8 (top bin) through 1006 / 0x3EE
(bottom bin).
Data Transfer
Element
The ACL can contain up to four tape drives. The drives are named DR4
through DR1 (from top to bottom). Their addresses are103 / 0x67 (top drive)
through 100 / 0x64 (bottom drive).
Transport
Element
The ACL cartridge handling system is named CHS. It comprises the
assemblies necessary to transfer tape cartridges between the storage bins,
import/export bins, and tape drive(s). Its address is 01.
