4. NEEDLE BAR
1. Position of the bell-shaped eccentric
Turn the hand wheel Î and loose the fastening screw Ê
1 in the bell-shaped eccentric Ë. Keep turning the hand
wheel until the needle bar reaches upper position.
Pulley screw Ì on the main shaft is on the same level
with the bearing cage screws Í Tighten the fasting
screw Ê.
NOTE: In order to check this dev
ice (home position),
turn the hand wheel forward and backward. The needle
bar must go down, not up. The needle Ó must start
sewing in the direction of the arrow – see the picture.
After the adjustment of the eccentric, check the position
of loopers and main shaft with the upper shaft. (See
loopers adjustment).
2. Setting up the height of the needle bar
With the machine in home position, set up the needle bar
Ò with the gauge Ï to the height of 16 mm (5/8“) from
the top of the throatplate Ð to the low edge of the
needle eye.
Loosen the setscrew Ñ and move the needle bar up or
down as necessary.
