cablelengthforthedifferentialLDTis1,500feet.
TheLDTcanalsobeconguredforexternalor
internalinterrogation.Externalinterrogatingis
whenanexternaldeviceconnectedtotheLDT
generatesastartpulse.Thisstartpulseshouldbe
aminimumof1.0microsecondinduration.Within
50nanosecondsaftertheleadingedgeofthestart
pulsehasbeenreceived,theLDTwillgenerate
anoutputpulse.Thedurationoftheoutputpulse
isproportionaltothedistancefromthemagnet
tothehexhead.Theorderofthesetwopulses
isillustratedbelow.TheLDTcanalsogenerate
internalinterrogations.ThisLDTwillcontinually
outputpulsewidthmodulatedsignals.Aswithan
LDTusinganexternalinterrogation,thedurationof
thisoutputpulseisproportionaltothedistancefrom
themagnettothehexhead.
