programmable,auto-tuning,non-contact,linear
displacementtransducerinaneconomical,low
prolepackage.Thetransducerutilizesoureld
provenmagnetostrictivetechnologytogiveabsolute
position,repeatableto.006%oftheprogrammable
sensingdistance.
Thestreamlinedanodizedaluminumextrusion
housesthesensingelementandelectronics.The
magnetmovesoverthesensingelementthat
determinesthepositionandconvertsittoananalog
output.Itcanbeorderedwitha0to10VDCor
4to20mAoutput.
The955ABRIKGenIIIhasafewtrulyunique
features.TherstoneistheLDT’sauto-tuning
capability,theabilitytosenseamagnetotherthan
thestandardslidemagnetandadjustitssignal
strengthaccordingly.Anotherfeatureistheanalog
outputisprogrammableovertheentireactive
strokelength.TheactivestrokeareaoftheLDT
liesbetweentheNullandDeadzones.Thereis
adiagnosticLEDlocatedattheconnectorendof
theprobethatremainsgreenwhileagoodmagnet
signalispresentandwhenthemagnetisinthe
programmedstrokearea.TheLEDturnsyellow
whenthemagnetisoutoftheprogrammedactive
range,butstillwithintheactivestrokearea.The
LEDturnsredandtheoutputgoesto0voltson
voltageoutputunits,or4mAoncurrentoutput
unitswhenthereisnomagnetpresentorwhenthe
magnetisoutofthesensingarea.

20-4mA.Asanaddedfeature,theoptional
differentialanalogoutputallowsthedistance
betweentwomagnetstobemeasured.
The955ABRIKisdesignedforapplicationswhere
economicalcontinuousfeedbackisnecessary.The
sensorcanbeacosteffectivereplacementtolimit
switches,proximitysensors,linearpotentiometers
andLVDT’s.Applicationsincludepresses,
blowmolding,injectionmolding,extrusion,roll
positioning,dancercontrolandmanymore.
