Prepare the roof or roof deck by carefully power washing
the surface to remove dirt, moss, and other debris. Let dry
thoroughly and make any needed repairs. Prime the roof
surface by applying Ames 4-inch Poly-Bridge Fabric or
Ames
® Peel & Stick Seam Tape with Ames Blue Max® over
joints, seams, flashing, and transitions on the existing roof.
• Do not apply when rain is forecasted or below 50° F.
• Pour or spray apply the selected Ames Roof Coating in
a path slightly wider than the roof fabric being used. The
material can be leveled out with a paint roller, or roofing
squeegee.
• While coating is wet, place fabric over the coating by
unrolling the fabric. Keeping a slight tension on the roll
in the direction of travel will assist you in keeping folds
and wrinkles out.
• As the fabric settles down onto the wet material, roll out
trapped air and excessive material with a paint roller.
• Use the red lap line printed on the fabric as a guide to
overlap the next course of fabric and apply your coating.
As previously done on the first row of fabric, apply the
wet material in a path slightly wider than the fabric
while overlapping the previously installed fabric along
the lap lines.
• Repeat this process across the entire roof and allow to
dry for 24 to 48 hours.
