Triplex Digital Video Multiplexer
Appendices 67
Symptom: When switching cameras, the call monitor synchronizes to the new camera very slowly.
Reason: The monitor's response time (to new video input) is too slow. Usually
it ranges from 0.03 sec. to 1 sec.
Solution: Use a monitor with a faster response time.
VCR
Symptom: During VCR playback, the update frequency of each camera is not even.
Reason 1: Multiplexer and VCR record setup are not matched.
Solution: Check multiplexer and VCR record setup (refer to VCR Set Up on
page 32).
Reason 2: An alarm condition was triggered during recording, and cameras
have different recording priority.
Solution: This is a normal condition.
Symptom: During VCR playback, the video is frozen.
Reason 1: Multiplexer REC TIME was set to “SYNC” mode, but the VCR trigger
cable was not connected.
Solution: Connect the VCR trigger (or SW OUT) signal from the VCR to
multiplexer (refer to Rec Time on page 34).
Reason 2: VCR tape is worn out or the head is dirty.
Solution: Change the tape or clean the head and try again.
Symptom: During VCR playback, some windows are not displayed.
Reason 1: If you assign more than one window to display the same camera
channel, only one window can be displayed normally.
Solution: Do not assign more than one window to the same camera channel.
Reason 2: That camera channel was not connected during recording.
Solution: Connect the camera and check that it is recorded properly.
Reason 3: VCR playback bypasses the multiplexer.
Solution: Verify that the VCR output is connected to the multiplexer's VCR
Input.
